Bio

Sports and athletics have always played a significant role in my life. I’m passionate about fitness and want to encourage people to move their bodies. As the youngest of four kids, my mom joked that I was born on the soccer field. My parents encouraged us to try different sports with the emphasis on just being active. Soccer was my sport of choice, but I also played softball and drill team in high school.

After college, I took an interest in running and actively trained for marathons and half marathons. I have run six marathons and have lost count of the number of half marathons. Following some repetitive use injuries, I took a step back from distance running, but appreciated the mental fortitude and stamina I developed. I’ve tried other group fitness options over the years, but nothing has truly challenged me like CrossFit. The community is also unmatched. I love the camaraderie, the constant variation, and the confidence that builds as your strength and fitness increase. As we age, we tend to become less active and our health can take a backseat as a result. However, prioritizing daily physical activity helps me to be my best in all my roles in life. What I love about CrossFit is that it is functional movements that translate into our everyday lives. As a trainer and coach, I enjoy encouraging people to be active and to break down barriers to what they think they are capable of in a safe environment. Getting someone to look forward to working out is my goal. Inevitably, when we are taking care of ourselves we are better equipped to take care of others and to be our best wherever life takes us.

Outside of the gym, I am a wife to Matt (a runner, lifter, and ice cream maker), a mom to two boys, and a client director in Wireless Telecommunications. Thankfully our love for physical activity has transferred to our kiddos and we typically spend the weekends at soccer or football games, swimming, with our church, or spending time with friends and family.

  • I have the best workout ever when I’m listening to: Rock/Alternative, or Pop music
  • I’m challenged by: Texas heat in the summer, I much prefer cold weather…I know, I live in the wrong state
  • When I’m not working out I’m: with my family and friends or reading a book
  • You’ll see me smiling when: cracking jokes and making others smile. Making people laugh is something I love to do
  • If I were an animal I’d be: A Blue and Gold Macaw
